Accurate Loads for the Savage 10ML Muzzleloader?
Does anyone have any experience with the "newer" Savage 10ML muzzleloader, especially with smokeless powders. What gives good accuracy?

I seem to have the best accurcy with 300 Gr Hornady XTP's with IMR 4227
If I use the 250XTP then it seems to be better with H4227....Both loads are using the CCI 209 primer's and 45.+ grains of powder. The 300 gr load is giving better accuracy than the 250's in my gun.
Check them out in yours and see what happens

I like 45 grains of AA5744 with the 250 XTP.
Also, 66 grains of VihtaVuori N120 with the 250 XTP.
With both of these loads I am getting 1 1/2 inch groups.
I use Winchester primers.
Although 4227 is recommended in the Savage manual, it has fallen out of favor with many Savage shooters because it is much harder to ignite than other powders. I bought a pound of 4227, had 2 misfires in 5 tries, and that pound of powder is sitting on the back shelf collecting dust.0 -
with the 240/250gr XTP's, win 209's and 47gr IMR4227 I got consitent 1" and less groups.
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
