    MFI,
    Remington uses a "Date Code".
    It's located on the left side of the bbl,just in front of the reciever.It'll be a 2 or 3 digit code.With that,I/We can help.

    No digits there . I see what looks like a CA and a funky symbol after those two thats it.

    The "C A" is the date code.
    C=4th month=April
    A(And now it'll get interesting)=1954 or 1980

    The 760 was made from 1952-1980 in different variations.Not all variations were made all years.

    Standard grade=1952-1980

    760ADL=1953-1963

    760D-Peerless Grade=1953-1980

    760F-Premier Grade=1953-1980

    So,it's your call.Does it look like 25 year old gun('80),or a 50 year old gun('54)?

    I'm sure someone more knowledgable will drop in with a simple answer.

    MFI, your 760REM. in .300 SAV. is definatly a 1954 production as the .300sav was dropped from the line in 1958. The .257 Roberts was dropped in 1957 and if you get one (.257) in the shop I'll be the first in line to buy it![:)]
