Another stainless question

Stainless Steel has nothing to do with it being very hot. Almost any barrel that is a light or sporter weight will heat up in just a few rounds, heavy barrels take longer but still get hot. 10 shots quickly would more than likely make it hot enough that holding your hand to it would be uncomfortable.

Gun control is hitting what your aiming at.

I am no expert. I don't think you could fire a bolt action gun quick enough to hurt it by overheating it. Nor could the average guy afford it. With that said though, a "hot" gun will have a different point of impact than a cold gun. You don't say what caliber your stainless stalker is but I would bet its a higher velocity round than the 308, that is possibly why it gets hotter than the your 308. I have seen M16A2's get really, really, hot with no lasting affects.
