Model 700 Remington
Anyone have any information on a model 700 produced in the early seventies in an ADL model in 7 m/m mag with a blued standard barrel.
I have heard that Remington made a limited run in 264 Win. mag & 7 m/m mag.

USBP...... Yes, Remington made the 700 ADL in 7mm Rem Mag in the 70's. In 1973 it was order #6074 and retailed for $169.95. In 74 it was order# 5776 and retailed for $179.95.
The 700 in .264 Win Mag was only available in the BDL model. This info is from my catalogs for those years. If there was a non-cataloged "limited" run it is possible the .264 could have been made in the ADL model.

I have bought one in 7 m/m mag with a stainless steel blued barrel. Stainless steel is stamped into the barrel. How rare are these models? 0 -
I came close to buying one in 1971. It was used, had a stainless barrel that for some reason had the blueing flaking off. The gus shop figured the owner had hauled it around with the barrel bouncing on something. It would have been a nice match with my 700 in 308, but I never made it back to the store with the $86 he wanted. I wonder if he still has it and if I could still get it for $86? 0 -
I have one right now in 7 m/m Rem Mag. It has a factory stainless barrel that is not marked stainless. I was going to reblue it then remembered that Remington put stainless barrels on the early magnums without marking. Buffed a small patch on the bottom of the barrel and tried cold bluing with no results. It stayed bright. The owner wants the receiver blued and the barrel left "in the white" but bead blasted. 0
