research past auctions?
I am tring to help a friend get an estimate of value for several guns. His brother-in-law recently passed away and he is thinking about selling a few of them. Is it possible to research closed auctions for prices things sold for?

Yes, Go to smart search, type in what you are looking for, then select show only completed items. 0 -

Look just below the search button (top & center) on the main auction page. Its in blue.

jnmiller: [ select show only compleated items.] ???? I have tried this and can can find no selection listed as such. what am I doing wrong ?

After you click on "Smart Search" click on the pull down menu "Show Only" Completed Auctions is the last one down.[:)]

Star on the home page and look at the upper right hand corner. You will see a small box with the word search on it. Underneath that is a line that says "smart search". Click on that and you will be taken to a detail search page. About half to 1/3 of the way down the left side you will see a heading that says "Show Only". Select that from the little pull down arrow on the right side and you will get choices like ended in the last 24 hours, ended in the last week, etc. At the very bottom is completed auctions. This will show you all auctions in your modified search parameters (forgot to mention that while your in that detail page, fill in the other search criteria like "225 Winchester" or whatever)that have ended, sold or not. Hope that helps.
