Tough choice ..Which to buy?
My pawn shop salesman called my cell phone early this morning. He had 3 guns I might be interested in being put out for sale. Yes, I'd be right there. There was an Anacanda 6" .44 magnum for $350, a Colt Defender for $395, and a Browning pump .22 magnum (Japan) for $185. I only had funds for one(honestly even with lay-away). I chose the Colt Anaconda. As a plus it came in a nice pigskin gun rug with a built-in lock. I called my hunting partner to tell him about the others, but by the time he got there at lunch, they had been sold. I wonder if I made the best choice, that Defender was certainly nice. I also picked up a Browning 2 1/2 X 8 variable scope I had put a deposit on yesterday. It looks just like a Redfield and has the widefield view. This was the first Defender I had handled. I was very impressed. I think I'd like one of those someday. I was wondering how well they would hold up since they are so light and have an aluminum alloy frame?

You can not go wrong with a Colt. The 6" Anaconda is one fine fire arm. If you want a Defender, put it on your wish list for the next time. [8D]

Stay with 220 grain bullets and less....at least to start with. Trust me.[;)] 0 -
You did good! Put the Defender near the top on your wish list though. I have both the Anaconda (4") and the Defender and could not be more pleased with them. The Anaconda has a great trigger and action equal to a S&W with the strength of a Ruger. The best of both worlds. The "perceived" recoil is more pronounced than with my S&Ws or a Ruger though.

If it makes you feel better, that Colt Anaconda was at least half the price of any I've seen around here. I'm jealous.
