Beretta 92 question

i have a buddy of mine that says he has a beretta 92 that has a mag release button at the bottom screw of the grip instead of at the trigger guard. has anyone seen this before? without even seeing it, im thinking that he is crazy! someone let me know. thanks

  I'm looking for a Beretta 92 stainless (all stainless controls too) that was made in Italy. I know they are making them in the US, but I was told that they no longer manufacture them in Italy. Is that true? I have seen a few at gun shows "NIB" but didn't know if they were "new old stock" or still being made.
