Kel-Tec P-3AT Problems ?

I just purchased a Kel-Tec p-3at back around mid Dec. I have
just got in a 2nd shooting session, (weather permitting). The gun
is new and I have only fired approx 50 rds thru it. The spent cases
I noticed are severly bent and some have bad nicks on the rims. The
gun shot to point of aim from 10-12 yrds and only missfed once. I stopped and field stripped and found the gun had no lub or grease of
anykind on anything. I did not see anything else wrong, but I have never owned one of these.
Should I contact kel-tec, take it back to the dealer or what?
I purchased this for a backup and quick pocket gun for around the
house ccw. I work at night and have to go out at 12:00am. The gun
has a lifetime warranty, but my lifes worth more than the life of
a gun so I want it to function when I need it. If it is damaging cases
that bad with new factory ammo, I would think, what will happen when
I need it. Thanks in advance for suggestions and or any other help.
I was using PMC 90grn ball ammo and some magtech gold JHP for testing.

    You took a new gun out and fired it without cleaning and lubricating it? Try doing what you should have done in the first place and then try it again.Let us know how it worked out.[:)]

    If the gun reliably feeds, fires and ejects it's working and that's all you can expect. That it dents cases is part of owning the P3AT.
    Some owners polish the chamber and feed ramp with a Dremel using rubber bonded fine abrasive wheels until they are bright as chrome. This will improve feed reliability and give the extractor less of a job in yanking fired cases out.
    The ejector and the little recoil spring retainer like to fly and disappear when the gun is taken apart.

    My P-3AT does not ruin the brass .Maybe if it was cleaned and lubed it wouldn't either? [:(]

    Thanks guys, for giving me the business, I deserve it. I have
    field sripped and lubed this iron up with some good action plus
    lube and I will probably polish feedramp and yes I should have known
    better to shoot a new one without doing that. Thanks for keeping me
    in line. I will let you know how the next range session shapes up.
