Bringing back a gun from Italy

    Very. No.

Sporting guns CAN be imported, but it is not worth the effort & expense unless you are talking about an extremely rare or expensive gun, or one with sentimental value. In addition to paying shipping & duty, it must go through an importer (who will apply the required import stamps).

You can get more information on the ATF website.

Thanks for all your advice. I'll just have to be patient and wait for one to come available or for Bernardelli to start shipping into the states. Thanks again, Ed

How difficult is it to buy a gun in Italy and bring it or have it shipped to the States? I have a friend traveling to italy in a couple of months and he has volunteered to try to find me a Bernardelli 9mm semi auto shotgun. Is it even worth the effort? Thanks, Ed

Just that! a 9mm rim fire shotgun. Very popular in Europe and just never really caught on here. Some call them "Garden Guns" Fiocchi still makes ammo in various shot sizes. It has a little more power than the 22 bird shot but still great for the backyard.
