How heavy of a bullet should a 1in 14 twist 22-250 ackley improved be able to stabalize.

  This article says a 1:14 is good for up to 55 grain bullets but other articles say 1:14 is good for "only the lightest bullets" [ie 40-45 grain].

  I have a M-70 .223 carbine, 14" twist. It has trouble stabilizing 55 gr in the 19 3/4" barrel. The AI has enough more velocity that it may
  even stabilize 60 gr but I wouldn't bet on it.
