Remington 700

Tirador
I have a Remington 700 sps tactical chambered in .308. Does anyone make a detachable magazind system for ths and any comments on the quality. Thanks

    I was at a gun shop today and was looking at a remington 700. It was a BDL in 270. It was totally parkerized and appeared to have a mcmillan (or similiar) stock with a cheek piece. Was this a special model or is it just customized aftermarket. What would you think is a good price for this given it is in decent condition.(handling marks but no rust or damage)I have not seen a gun like this before.


    Any info would be great

    The stock is the difference, the police model "PSS" will have a matte black finish, wider forend and a large palmswell grip, the sendero will have a diiferent stock that I consider a better hunting package, it should be a tad lighter, both stocks are made by H-S Precision A+ stock maker, both should deliver sub MOA accruracy.     I had something of the same goal a year or two back, looking for something a little more specialized into long range elk hunting. I answered the problem by having a Win M70 rebarrelled to 375 RUM, with a barrel 28" long, with a taper to about 1.1" at the muzzle. With a 6x S&B scope it weighs in at about 12 pounds, so I carry it with a boonie style sling, shooting from some sort of rest or supported position. It is actually reasonably pleasant to shoot and when that 250 gr bonded bullet lands 500 yards from the muzzle, it still speaks with the voice of authority.

    i think either would be fine, but niether is neccessary...a standard barrel 700 is plenty accurate enough for long range elk hunting and a much more friendly weapon to carry in the field...if you use a bipod on your rifle , you should be able to blow up basketballs at any distance the 300 retains enough energy to cleanly drop an elk at

    I was told by a Remington factory employee that the police guns are the same as the others. They come off the same assembly lines, they just price them higher at the police supply distributors than at the regular wholesalers. When they sell to govt. tax supported agencies they get more ,just like the army $ 300 dollar hammers we've all heard about. Save your money get the Sendero or other models in the premium stock.

    Yep, the barreled actions are the same, assembly line, NON-TRUED recievers with different a finish and different stocks, I agree that neither are the BEST choice for elk.

    Get the Sendero in a 7MM Rem Mag, and be happy killing big Elk with premium bullets the rest of your life.

    Gun control is hitting what your aiming at.
