Bausch & Lomb mount

I aquired some extra B&L adjustable mount parts.

First I do not know what gun the base fits on. It is made by B & L not Kuharsky, the only ID that I can find is on the bottom where it shows HLR. Anyone know?

2nd I have the spring type ring mount for the scope, how does it come apart? It is not moving and want to take apart to clean up.

    I have a few sets of the B&L & one set of Kuharsky mounts. They are all of the older plunger style. On the under side of the base, that is the part that would touch the receiver, there may be numbers or letters that identify it. On mine they show FN for the Mauser ones, 70 on those for the Win M70. The Kuharsky is on a Mann-Sch 1903, but I don't recall what it said. The older rings didn't split into two pieces- the scopes of the day were non-adjustable and had no knobs, so by loosening the ring, the scope sould be slid into place. The spring and plunder can be taken apart by removing the set screw, which may have an allen head, then put back together by reverse process. They worked well for holding the scope on zero, provided you didn't use the scope for a carrying handle, but with the advent of internal adjustments that actually worked, they became obsolete.
