Harrington Richardson late model M1 Garand sight a

Rear sight calibration: have difficulty with elevation drum lock screw kind of hanging up when unscrewed and not allowing the drum to come loose to calibrate to 100 yds.(as sighted in, hits dead on at 100yds. shows 1100 yds on drum) lockscrew feels like it's being held by a spring.
