I am trying to find the date of manufacture for a M1 Carbine with Ser# 2,070,716. Any help out there ?

Is 1942-1943 close enough for you? We don't have good records for most carbine production, especially a small company like Standard Products. I don't have anything more exact in my reference library, but someone else may.

w/ a total of 247,100 carbine produced ,
reciver marks "std.pro"
manf. code S,
made in ohio,
they used mostly underwood barrels
