H&A double barrel shotgun

can't find info. on H&A double barrel shotgun's. it was made after the merge with forehand co. has a squirrel on the butt end. would like to know more history & value, why there seems to be little value on H&A products.

  There are basically two markets for used firearms. Most are "shooters" and sold for that purpose at modest prices. The "collector" market is the one you wish your firearm was in (we all do!), but this market is created by collectors and they favor certain things. Other things are shooters. Generally speaking, Collectables are produced by the big name manufacturers, and often the firearms collected are watershed models that made a significant change in firearms history. The Winchester model 70 is considered by many to be the finest bolt action rifle ever built and they are highly collectable. Even withing the model 70 market, however, there are collectables and shooters. Condition is the main factor, but other considerations like the number produced (many more of some calibers were made than other calibers), variations, fancy wood/checkering, engraving and so on have a large impact on prices. H&A were largely utilitarian firearms, produced in large number, and the vast majority are in less than perfect conditon today. That does make them cheap to collect, so if you love 'em, collect 'em!
