Flobert 32 ?

I have an old single shot marked only Belgium,I'm pretty sure its a Flobert or similliar type gallery gun.I seen several on the auction sights.I have placed a 32 rimfire shell in it and closed it,seems to fit good and snug,like I would assume it should.Is the 32 rimfire used in the Flobert type guns the same as the 32 rimfire round used in the Remington and Marlin guns of the day.The gun is in real good,tight condition with a heavy barrel.Are the 32 rimfire cartriges by Navy Arms o k to shoot in these....

  I highly recommend against it! One of the inherent problems with the Old Flobert Rifles is the softness of the Screws that hold the Breech together...and the Hammer Screw is another weak link.....

  The Flobert's were chambered for Metric rimfire cartridges. The only one that would accept a 32 cartridge, because of the diameter would be the 9mm. Which was a smoothbore. It's not likely that's what you have.
  
  If you really feel you MUST shoot the thing, take it to a qualified Gunsmith. Have him do a chamber cast to ascertain the correct cartridge it chambered for, also inspect it for safety and test fire it, if possible.
  
  My 2 cents would be, to take the Captain's advice and hang the sucker on the wall as a decorator.

  Thank you all for the responce,Iwasn't sure.The gun does have rifleing,fairly deep,and the bore is not pitted at all.I really was just interested in what kind of ammo it shot more so than shooting it.On the wall it will go,thanks

  Original price for the .22 Cal $2.60
  .32 Rimfire $2.85
  They were chambered for the .32 rimfire short. The problem is that many were also chambered for the .30 rimfire. Many of the boys never cleaned out the corrosive primers residue. As a result many of the .30 rimfire rifles will now chamber a .32 rimfire, which is not a good idea to do in a 100 year plus rifle made in some guys backyard in Belgium.
