Teflon finish

Need to know if this is a good finish or not. A gunsmith here in town says it is. Is it worth 95.00?

    I call out a black teflon finish for many parts at work, called Xylon. It's a sprayed and baked finish about .0005" thick. It's very good looking and pretty durable. Give me an idea of just what you want finished and I can give you an estimated price. I plan on using this on some of my current projects.

    I have a Colt systema 1927 That has a parkerized finish. The gun is in fair shape. There are some pits on it when I got it. I suspect from corrosive ammo. There are a couple of scrapes on the frame(underneath) and the gun looks like it has seen some mileage but shootable. I was thinking about bringing it up to date and giving it a little tlc that has probably never got in its life before.

    As I'm sure you know, any collector value the Systema 1927 may have or would ever have will be lost if you refinish.

    The systema 1927 was originally blued. Being parkerized now
    means that it has allready been through an arsenal refinish.
    No collector value now but they are excellent shooters.

    Glad to hear that 101AIRBORNE, I was worried if that was the original finish or not. I never bought for investment purposes but I would also hate to mess with original stock. Some people really screw up some guns with well intentioned ideas.
