Thompson Center question
The Thompson Center pistol barrel I traded for has a screw on "choke" 44 mag, caliber. Is this for shooting "shot" shells when attached? Also does Thompson still maje the "shot shells" in 44 mag? Thanks in advance.. nambu

Yes, the screw on/in piece is the shot shell splitter/choke.
T/C no longer offers the shot shells, and although there are some up for auction from time to time I suggest you avoid them as the shot shell material has degraded to the point of being very fragile in some of this ammo. Commercial (current) 44 mag. shot shell ammo is still available.
Lastly, what ever you do don't forget to take off the "choke" before you fire standard cartridges. I've seen more than one perfectly good barrel ruined ... fortunately there were no injuries to anything other than the shooters pride.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
