The rifle book identifies your version of the L-61 as the "Carbine Magnum". The 7mm Mag. version was only made for a limited time period, circa mid 80's, early 90's.
Fireing the 7mm Mag out of a 19" barrel would clear my sinuses, for sure. Maybe thats why they quit making the carbine in 7mm Mag.
Sako rifles have a devoted collector following, in the condition you describe, a rifle that has been out of print for 15 years, should be worth extremely good money.

Thanks for the info. Sounds about right. I have the receipt where the original owner(from the military) brought it out of Finland in May of 1981. I traded him for it about 10 years ago and it has done nothing but take up room in the safe.
And i also imagine that the shot would be felt.
But what would be a good asking price for this rifle? I am thinking of selling this one and a couple of others, but info on this one is real sketchy. Anyone know of a rough value for this gun. Never been fired, in original box, not a mark on it.0 -
Looks like there isn't much info on this gun. It has been over a year, and i still have the rifle but not much info. I can't even find it in the books a look at (gun value books). Is it worth the same as one with a standard stock? 0
