Have you checked Fulton Armory? Do a search and thier web page will come up. They build NM M1A/M14.

A gun made in the 1700's is "very old"; yours is just broken in.

Springfield Armory, Inc never made a model called "M-14", so I don't know what kind of rifle you have or who made it. The manufacturers name should be stamped on the receiver.

Assuming that you have some sort of M14-clone, I agree with turboangelo that Fulton Arms is a good place to send. Actually, they may be the best place, but their charges reflect that fact. Any service-trained armorer should be able to perform a "technical inspection" of your rifle, which is what you need at this point. Once that is done, you & your armorer can then decide what your rifle needs.

My M14-clone has a SAK lightweight NM barrel, considered to be the most accurate USGI barrel for this rifle. These barrels were made by Saco Armaments in Saco, Maine. There are also some excellent commercial barrels available.
