The good bad and the ugly of the Encore
How is the TC Encore for value and accuracy. How well does it hold up to lots of shooting. Is there any considerations when comparing it to other single shot rifles. Any words of wisdom are appreciated.

On this same topic, I am interested in the pros and cons of the 24"
standard barrels and the 26" heavy barrels. I am looking at .270 or 7 mm mag. Does one or the other barrel have an advantage? Will the same stock fit both?

I have one and like it so far, but havent shot it enough to make a comment that would hold water. If It is anywhere as good as the contenders it will be wonderful. Its a good company, holds value well, and I doubt if you will go wrong. 0 -
I own two Encores and Two Contenders. I am very happy with all of them. The Encores were bought as .50 cal muzzleloaders but I also have a 22-250 barrel as well as .308, .223, and .270 All shoot very well and I am pleased with them.
They are hard to beat in my opinion
Opinions are like azzholes, eveyone's got one, and this just happens to be mine!0 -
The encore is a excellant value, and just as accurate as most single shots.
The heavy longer barrel will as a rule shoot a bit better than the shorter lighter barrel will and it will hold better and have a bit more velocity.
