ar-15 left hand

Does anyone know of a left hand model Ar-15 type rifle?I would love to find one in .308 or .223.

    I have a left hand AR made by DPMS. Put it together myself and it shoots great.

    In addition to the left hand upper, you will need the left hand bolt. It will work in the regular bolt carrier, and lower reciever.

    DPMS makes their left hand upper in a high profile or low profile configuration. It does not come with a dust cover like the right hand versions.

    Is a left handed AR-15 a necessity for left handers ? I'm left handed and have no problem shooting my friends' Olympic Arms UM. Like other A2 versions it has a shell deflector bult in it...

    tlen..... No, left hand shooters do not have to have a left hand rifle. I have several other AR's and they are all right hand models.
    They all shoot fine and I have no problems with brass in the face.

    My uncle (who is a gunsmith) machined the reciever on his AR and added a "left handed" operator so he could stay on target and clear jams or reload in compitition. It looks really good and is very functional. Go to the forums at tactical shooting.com and I am sure he can help. Just popst this topic there. Hope this helps.

    What do you think of your ACOG. How far can you shoot accurately with it.

    ccddbb..... I like the Trijicon ACOG's so much I bought 2 of them.

    The TAO1 on my rifle in the pic has a BDC (bullet drop compensator) out to 800 yds, but I almost never shoot it that far.

    I use that rifle for 3-gun competition, and I nailed 2 coyotes with it recently. I went out yesterday to check the zero for an up coming match. It shot 1 1/8" 8 shot groups at 100 yds with Black Hills 52gr .223 ammo.

    It has a 20" heavy barrel and I like Black Hills 52gr and 68gr Match Hollow point ammo. With the ACOG and good ammo, I can hit a 10" steel plate at 400yds on a bench rest with no problem. Standing and sitting positions are another thing all together.

    When you get beyond 400yds and add some wind, things start to get more difficult. In windy conditions I break out the heavier 68gr ammo.

    The ACOG's are in heavy use in Iraq. They are a bit pricey, but worth the investment.
