BAR/SLR Ohio Ordinance

Hello Experts,
Does anyone have experience with Ohio Ordinance Works' re-make of the Browning BAR? I read enough about it to know that it is semi-automatic only by design. Therefore it can not be really termed a copy of the M1918A2. Apparently the company uses a lot of genuine military parts. At $4,300.00 it is not a purchase to take lightly. Anybody care to speculate about future collector interest in this sort of thing?

I once saw a de-milled BAR on display, I have wanted one every since. Thanks

    Call it a "copy" or "reproduction" or whatever you want, it's as close to the real thing as most folks will ever get. If you think that's a lot of money, try buying a real BAR. I don't recall actually seeing one, but they are probably out there; I wouldn't be surprised if one brought $15-20,000.

    Ohio Ordinance makes good quality stuff, & there will probably always be a market for expensive toys. But, never forget that a BAR is just a toy, it's not a good place to invest your children's college money. If you have money to throw away on fun stuff, go for it. But, if money is ever a concern for you, you should forget about it.
