bushmaster .308 broken bolt

in october I bought a Bushmaster .308. left handed controls and cheap FAL mags sold me. after 500 rounds bolt broke. tail of bolt behind gas rings separated. upper receiver was galled. upper went back to bushmaster. inquiry on other forums (ar15.com) seemed to indicate only one other problem of this sort. any feedback from BAR owners? will post bushmaster's handling of this problem.

  Thanks for the heads up ... I'd like to hear how they handle it.
  
  I had a Stoner SR25 for quite a few years but sold it ... lately I've been thinking of getting another 308 AR. Been thinking about the DPMS as the initial price is conciderably less, but mags are more just oppisit the Bushmaster with cheap mags but several hundered more to get into ... either way it kinda looks like a wash [:(!]

  Tell us you were not using reloads. Bushmaster should make it good and then some.

  no reloads. pmp .308 commercial from south africa. bought a lot of several k rounds of this stuff. clean. no probs in an mia and fal I fed it to.
