22 cal. german rifle
I have a 22 riflethat has no sn.#on it says mod. 1 germany an has a S with a ring around it.it has the same s with a ring around iton the stock. it open at the breach alittle tray slid out to put the shell on. I have had it for 35 years the old man i got it from was 70 and he said hegot it when he was 10.i think it is around 105 years old it shoot very well and is invery good shap. do you kow anthing about this tpye of rifle or what the vaule of it[?]

If you could post some quality pictures, it would be easier to identify and PERHAPS? give you an idea of your rifles value.
From your description of the "S with a ring around it", my WAG is that your rifle is a Deutsche-Werke, ( Ortgies )? Flobert Rifle. If this is what it is, it dates to the 1920's. Their not particularly common, BUT to the best of my knowledge there's little collectors demand/value for them.

I have one of the little rifles Rufe described and the stylized lion on the stock may be mistaken for a "D" but never an "S".
It probably came from Suhl Germany in the 20's or 30's. Inexpensive garden or bicyle rifle. Very good little shooter but value most likely less than $200.

Here is a internet site with pictures of Ortgies. The Deutsche-Werke "Trademark"/Monogram is very prominently marked on the grips & slide.
It always looked like the letter "S" to me!
