"...Can the sear block be removed legally with the ban dead?..." if you're thinking FA, the ban had nothing to do with it. You still must comply with ATF and State rules. The $200USD tax still applies as do all Federal and State laws.

I'm thinking FA in the future, possibly, but asking if a receiver made after the ban can be modified.

    blckhrn,

you CANNOT convert your AR to full auto regardless. That all ended in 1986. If you want full auto you will need to buy a current f/a or a lightning link, or Drop in auto sear. All three of these items are about $10,000 each.

Now if you are thinking of converting to f/a illegally, then that is another issue.

Try reading over on www.ar15.com they are the authority on the ar family of weapons.

    Great pic Mark!

You will be looking for a "Green Label" Colt.

This issue is why I don't generally care for the Blue Label Colts, unless they are collectable for some other reason. I'm not sure if all blue labels have the sear block, but the Green Labels didn't.

If I had a pic of one without u could see the diff. In case you aren't sure or don't know, the sear block in Mark's pic is the piece clearly marked "Colt."
