Updated*Price check Underwood m1 carbine
I picked up an Underwood M1 carbine at the gun show today. I don't have a lot of knowledge about these, so anything you can tell me (value , etc.)would be appreciated.
Barrel is marked UNDERWOOD,12-43, flaming bomb, P, no other barrel makings visable.
Barrel band w/sling thingie mounted to it marked with a W
Receiver markings are U.S. CARBINE ,CAL. 30 M1, rear of rec. marked UNDERWOOD, 28193xx
Mag release button marked with CC and M
Rear sight marked I.R. CO.
15 rd mag has a K on the bottom
That is ALL the markings that I can see.
parkerizing looks to be 95%+
walnut stock looks pretty good,no damage to speak of.
the gun just does not look like it was used all that much.
***************I took the gun apart and the other markings are as follows:"105" on the bottom of the operating slide,"H.I." on the hammer,"INLAND" on the trigger housing (inside of a shield-like emblem. There were no other visable markings ,but I did not totally take it apart.

It sounds like a rebuilt carbine, but you didn't give us enough information to tell much more than that. You need to take it apart, as import markings are sometimes below the wood line on the barrel or receiver. We need to know the markings on the stock. It would also help to know the muzzle wear measurement, which you can approximate with a poor man's MW gauge: stick a round of USGI .30-06 M2 ball ammo point first in the muzzle, & measure how much copper jacket shows.
At this point, a ballpark estimate is $500-800.
