New 1911 Magazine
What is the name of the new 8 shot 1911 magazine that is suppose to be better than a Wilson? The name starts with a "C". It has a plastic follower with a metal piece that works the slide stop. I have seen a couple at IDPA matches and was told that you can only order them from the manufacturer but I forgot to write the name down. Thans in advance, Pearyw

Tripp Cobra Mags.
I hear awesome things about them but just haven't had the chance to try them out for myself yet.0 -

I don't know about better ,but they are cheaper ,and if you are shotting them through a kimber look at this

I bought some McCormick 8 shot mags because they did not have the 'extra length' that some other 8 shot mags have.
They work fine in the '1911's I have. I had a new SA 1911A1 with some improvements that did not want to hold open on the last shot on some McCormick mags. That smoothed out after the gun was broken in....all work well now.
I wondered if the spring would hold up since it must be 'somewhat different' to mate with the follower and hold 8 rounds in the standard length. I have marked one to sacrifice. That one is used every trip to the range, and stays full otherwise....2yrs no problems. (I always rotate other 'stay full' mags).

wilson have 8 rounders to ,and are Warranted for life ,if you put them side by side you would quickly realize the difference in quality

The Cobra mags don't have the McCormick follower and they are not cheaper than the Wilsons. 0
