Call century and ask them. If I remember right they may have been mixing and matching parts back then. Many of the Century Arms built rifles have been somewhat lacking in quality over the years. Your fal may be half and half or some such.

The L1A1 that I bought from Century Arms is an inch pattern. I would call Century Arms and ask.

Century has alway mixed and matched parts. It is hard to tell for certain without seeing the gun. Real inch guns will have a folding charging handle and generally be clunkier in appearance, but many parts will interchange...

Metric mags generally work in inch guns, but inch mags will not go into metric guns without modifying the catch on the front of the mag. The catch on the front of a metric mag is smaller than the one on an inch mag. Metric mags are cheap, usually $5 for usable ones, Inch are at least twice that.

My border collie is smarter than your honor student.
