quality of ramline 50???

I was wondering if anyone out there can give some input on the new ramline 10/22 50rd mags (the clear ones with yellow parts inside)

    they work great! but in my case I wear them out quite quickly.
    In a semi 10/22 they should give at least a couple of years of good service, after awhile i have had some split on the older pre-bans

    I have a thirty round Ramline that is about 7 or 8 years old. No problems with it until recently, and it was the same problem IAMACLONE_2 talked about...the split. It still functions but I have to check it prior to seating the mag in my 10/22. I'd say get it. They used to be pretty reasonable (pre-ban), I'm not sure what they cost now.

    thanks for the input guys. I got a 30 ram line and it works great im glad to hear the 50's work just as good.

    Ram-Line did have some problems with the older series magazines. The new ones are improved and feed better and hold up well. We've put 1.000 rounds thru one of theses (50 shot).
    Older magazine with problems can be sent in for exchange (limit of 3 magazines). Call 800-635-7656.
    New magazines only have a 90 day warranty.

    I just got a new 50 round double-stack Ramline for about $28.00.

    It is very unreliable. About every 7th shot the bolt fails to strip a round out of the magazine. It is also more difficult than other hi-cap magazines to load. Materially, it also looks like it won't last as long as the the steel lipped variety. The magazine was also collecting debris inside and gumming up the springs. I had to drill a 1/4 inch hole in the bottom, in order to shake the debris out.

    I also have a 25 round Bulter Creek magazine. It is very easy to load and has never failed to feed after hundreds of rounds. It also looks like new because it has the steel lips.

    My advice would be to stay away from the 50's.

    I've had little to no problems with my new Ram-line 50's although they seem to require some use to achieve max reliability.

    I would stay away they are hard to load. Try the Eagle 30 rounders. They are easier to load and are single stack. They will also clip together. If you still want the Ramlines I have seen them cheap at www.kyimports.com

    I agree reguarding difficult to load, but I must disagree reguarding the Eagles unless you are talking about the old preban Eagles. The new Ealges are not even made in same mold as the old prebans. I know this for a fact since I purchased several noban Eagles and had many problems which wasn't the case with the old prebans. I called Eagle and they told me the new mags weren't made from the same mold but they will exchange the mags if you wish......
