Hi Power, Beretta or Glock ??????????

I need some advice on which carry gun to buy. I know the Beretta was chosen for our troops but I like to looks and reputation of the Hi Power. Many of you have Glocks which I know nothing about. I am not planning on traveling too far with this concealed but their are times it will be needed.

What ever advbice you can give would be appreciated and if you have a preference please tell me why. Tell me which model and specs so I will know exactly what to look for.

    Depends on where you are going to carry it. Size may be an issue, caliber is always a consideration.

    All 3 are good guns. Growing up with 1911's I never cared for the Beretta and never would buy one. Not that there is anything wrong with em I just can't shoot them. I have 2 Glocks. Just bought a 17 a few months ago, got to shoot it 1st and was shocked at how well I shot it. Also have a 21 which has been 100% reliable with easily 9000rds through it.

    Don't own any Hi Powers but will probably pick one up some day.

    I would recommend you shoot a 1911 style before you commit. I find that once you shoot a 1911 you become spoilled and wont want any other handgun design. The 1911 has one of the best triggers out there and is really easy to shoot really well with.

    Glock is the simplist,easist to keep clean, durable and goes "Bang" every time. my favorate is the Glock 23 (.40 SW). I am a US merchant Marine Officer, so these issues are vital. Best, Robert[;)]

    I think all are good guns, but if you are looking for conceal carry, hi-powers and most beretta's are out of the question. Glock makes a lot of compact and subcompacts. Again, nothing wrong with any of the guns, but if you are looking for a small, powerful, reliable gun, Glock makes compacts as large as .45 and 10mm--expensive!--They also make subcompacts as large as .40 and .357sig. I have a 27, and it honestly fits in my rear jean pocket.

    Look at the Beretta 9000S in 40 s/w. Very nice compact!

    All these guns are great and the choice would be more difficult if you wished to carry a pistol outside in a holster. You need a carry gun, so different criteria of weight, bulk and speed of getting into action from concealment become most important.
    I believe a compromise in size needs to be made and that you should be looking at a smaller frame pistol no larger than the Glock 19.

    Rent different ones at the range and buy the one that fits your hands. Any of the three will serve you well.

    I am partial to the Glock 23, it is a nearly perfect carry firearm IMHO. Simple to use, 14 Rds. of .40 S&W, compact size and accurate enough for the intended purpose.

    Guns only have two enemies: Rust and Liberals....

    All three of the mentioned guns are good. One other thing to consider is the size of your hands. That may sound a little strange, but the double stack magazine compared to a single stack can make a big difference in the comfort and ease of use. Just something to think about.

    I have a beretta 40cal. and a glock 23 40cal. I like both but would go with the glock. Easy to clean, shoots great and there is more stuff you can do with them. Everybody make stuff for glocks.[}:)]
