Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about a Tikka T3? I am looking at another rifle and these have started to look really good. Thanks for the help.

The Tikka T3's are guaranteed 1 inch groups out of the box, these are excellent rifles. Yes the yjust had a recall on some stainless models made after February of this year.

Any Savage bolt rifle will be just as accurate out of the box and spare/extra magazines don't cost a fortune. It might not be as 'sexy' as the Tikka, but very reliable.

Men, like bullets, go farthest when they are smoothest.

I love mine, Savages are also very nice it depends on what you want find somone that has them and give them a try, at least move the actions thats how I got my T3, moved the action on it and darn near crapped my pants smooth as silk. and at 50 yards bullet holes overlap with factory ammo, at 100 they are under 1/2" I still need to work up some loads for beyond that.

The T3 is probably the best rifle you can get for the money. They promise 1" groups with factory ammo out of the box and are EXTREMELY smooth. You can adjust the trigger between 2-4# and do not need a gunsmith to do it (took about 2 minutes max). The T3 lite is 6.5 pounds and has a great feel (balance) to it. The reviews I have read on it say it is a great rifle at $1000. It is a steal at less then $550 (normal price S/S). The one complaint I have heard is some people do not like the magazine/clip.

They did have a recall on the stainless models but the batch was fairly small (made in February of 2004) and the recall is simple to do from what I have heard. I have had three and sold them when I moved up to the Sako 75. Basically the same gun just suped up and more expensive.

They did advertise them as having a "sexy" new design so If you are single and want to pick up women while hunting, I would go with the T3.[:D]

Thanks for the advice. I was looking at a lite. I don't care for the stainless on the gun I have now, so I was going for a blued one. I have not been able to find much for savage that feels good to me. Then again there is only one savage dealer near here and they do not have that great of a selection. Im sure they are fine guns.
    Thanks again
