hatchetteman, what jeff is saying is the folders such as Tapco sells are two inches longer for larger American type fellows. It has nothing to do with them being in stock or not. Jeff is wanting a different styled folder.

Jeff, I like the looks of those offered by Robinson Arms. Check http://www.robarm.com/ or http://www.ak47.com/

To err is human, to moo is bovine.

ACE makes a very good folding stock for AK's. [8D]

The Wasr10 has a Romanian folding stock, Sar1 has ACE folding stock. Both are very sturdy. I prefer the folding mechanism of the Romanian over that of the Ace but find the Ace stock gives a more comfortable cheek weld. Both are good stocks. The Romanian dropped in with 2 screws that came with it from K-Var. The Ace required multiple allen keys & loctite (not included). The Ace came with no instructions but I was able to piece it together in about an hour and 2 beers.

I have the opposite problem. My LOP (length of pull) is around 17 inches measured by the conventional method (from crook of elbow to 1st knuckle). In fact, every assault rifle I've seen seems to be made for dumpy or one of the other elves. Properly shouldering my CETME or my Romak PSL has my nose where the receiver could do some serious damage. To me, that seems like these rifles are made for someone shorter than average.

Without getting too scientific, measure your LOP, then measure the shortest distance from the trigger to the butt plate. Chances are that your LOP will be 2 inches longer than that of your AK, meaning the 2" stock will fit you well.

I'm thinking that the design of these shorter stocks is meant to afford easier and faster shouldering and target acquisition.

Do you shoot trap? If so, you'll know how important proper LOP is.
