Trigger pull problems?
Tuesday I went with a friend to the range. I brought a sig p228, but also rented the glock 23 and the sig 229 in 40 s&w. I've shot the p228 previous times and really enjoy it. I wanted to try out the other sig and the glock because I may buy either. The Sig 229 shot much like the p228, I didnt really find a difference, grouped well.
Now with the glock, my first 10 rounds grouped well but then all the others rounds went two to three inches to the left. I tore up the left side of the paper (unintentionaly). Another one of my friends had this same problem when I told him about it. He said it was his trigger pull that was the problem, after he fixed it he bought a glock 22. I hear lots of great comments of glock but my first experience was not that great, but I'm sure it's me. So later this week I most likely will go again and rent the glock 23. Any advice on what the problem is and how to fix it? I remember a pic of a target that was split up into grids, and showed common mistakes, know where I could find it?

Adjust to the gun.
You are comparing a Sig to a Glock. Both have two differnt trigger pulls and feels. Sight picture and alignment is different for both those guns.
Also if its a rental, sights could be off. If you are punching tight groups 12inchest left and know for a FACT you are dead on target at whatever range you are shooting at, could be the sights.
Glocks are good guns but every gun takes practice and time to master. Can't go wrong with a Sig or Glock.0 -
Could be a couple things. Since it is a rental gun, and not yours, the sights may be off for your "style".
If you are right handed and shooting to the left, you may be putting too much of your trigger finger into the trigger guard. Remember, the first pad of the finger goes on the trigger, not the first joint or behind it.
Since the Glock has a different pull than the Sig, it is important to keep the sights aligned and "still" during the entire proceedure, all the way til the shot fires.
And remember, you fire the gun with your trigger finger, not your hand. Do not "milk" the gun when shooting. Your hand should maintain a steady firm grip, and the only thing moving is your finger.

Like the others have said, you need to adjust how you shoot the glock. Many people who are new to glocks have trouble the first time shooting a glock. Laredo Lefty gave some excellent advice. Just keep practicing. 0 -
