1895 Winchester "top wood/hand guard"?

Does anyone know where I can purchase top wood for an 1895 Winchester SRC? Is there any wood that I could "modify" that would work. What about Krag top wood?

  Have you tried Boyd's at www.boydboys.com or Precision at www.precisiongunstocks.com? Also, some Model 1895 Winchester carbines were originally made without top handguards. Look at the forend,if there are two notches cut into the forend, in front of and in back of the rear sight, the carbine had top wood. The notches are where the spring steel clips that hold the wood to the barrel fit. However, if there are no notches, then the carbine was made without top wood. Most carbines were made for use of the top wood.

  I used the handguard from a 98 Krag to make one....only problem is the 98 Krag handguard is not easy to find either.
