FN Hi Power .9mm Silesia ?
Anyone know anything about Silesia or what that may designate ? This has the word Silesia on the front of the trigger guard. Herstal Belgique.

Silesia is a region in, I believe, Germany. The term "Upper Silesia" keeps popping into my head, but I cannot figure out why! My guess would be that you have a re-sold previous regional police gun.

Any ideas on a value if in 85% condition. 0 -
"Silesia" was used as a trademark by a West German ( prior to the 1989 reunification ), arms dealer. I have seen a number of Hi-Powers with that marking. Probably dates to the 60's. West Germany had fairly liberal gun laws as far as Europe was concerned, until the 1970's when they starting having big problems with left wing terrorists, ( Bader - Mainhoff, etc. ). The gun laws that were then passed put most of these dealers like "Silesia" out of business.
