Looking for Suggestions
What are some opinions on Sauer handguns? Grandson purchased a Springfield, I believe, in .40 ACP caliber. Looks like it can be broken down in a few seconds. If I get one then we only need one set of loading dies. Any pecularities? Inherent problems? Ease of stripping, cleaning, assembly, etc. Cabela's has a sale on them.
Thanks in advance, Bob

I'm new to handguns and I'm looking for the right handgun to carry for personal protection while I'm out in the southern Az desert. Would like any information/suggestions on the different manufactures/models, new/used prices. Currently, I'm considering a 4in .357mag. --Tnx. 0 -
IMHO, whatever your comfortable & confident with, the 357 cal & the wheelgun are both great choices, personally in the deasert i'd have at least two shotshells in the clyinder first in line [}:)]

bigE, I don't think you can do any better than 4" 357 revolver for ease of use, protection and carry. If you are going to do a lot of shooting, in and out of the holster I'd go with a stainless finish. Figure how much you want to spend and look in that range. Handle them all, pick out the one that feels best in your hand and looks pretty. Shoot as much as you can. Start with the 38spl and work up to the 357 full load. Have fun. 0 -
Try handling A Smith & Wesson 686, they sure seem to balance well. Every one I ever shot would keep them all in the 10 ring if I did my job. 0 -
s&w 66 is also a good choice

Might also look at Ruger Security Six or an SP101. Rugged, durable and seem a bargain on the used market, tho being over built, tend to be a little heavier. The S&Ws are also an excellent choice. 0 -
Tnxs alot for the info. I'll definately ck out the S&Ws and Rugers at the next gun show or local dealers. At a recent gun show, I spotted a Colt 357 4" SS KC that felt pretty good. But, I want to handle several before I make a final choice. What about Taurus? I've heard both good and bad. 0
