Russian firearms, AK's,AKM's, & RPK's, are designed to use Russian ammo. You'll replace a disconnector spring before a barrel. Now if it's a MINI 30 or a CZ bolt, I may be a little more careful what I shot through it.

Don't worry about the search function, it has never worked for me either.

I have an AK, but I am not worried about that. I figure the Russians have figured out the problems with the gun and ammo combination. My concern is with a Mini-30. Wolf use to jam and misfire in the Mini, but the new grey paint ammo seems to do fine as far as I can see, However.. Am I going to damage it, and where? Is there some kind of bore inspection I can have done that will tell me if I have damaged it by using cheap ammo? The ammo should be of softer metal, and while the Mini's .308 barrel has been a concern by many before, it has been discounted from a safety perspective, not a problem. However maybe the bore will wear out faster???

Wolf does make a COPPER jacketed round in addition to the Bi-Metal. The copper jacket round is only a penny or two more. This will protect your barrel if you have a concern. I think that Wolf is using a polymer coating instead of a laquer coating on their cases now. I do not know how the polymer coated steel Wolf or Zinc plated Barnaul rounds affect the Mini-30 action though. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Laquer case ammo gums up a mini-30/14 pretty quickly if you get it very hot.Same with an AR-15.The laquer melts and the gun starts jamming. I am going to try the new gray polymer coating. They say it wont leave a residue or melt so no more jamming.
