Colt King Cobra, Nickel Finish?

I bought a nice Colt King Cobra 4" today that has a really shiny finish that looks like nickel plating? Did Colt ever sell this model in nickel or is it stainless steel? Looks too bright for stainless to me as I have seen KC's before in stainless that looked almost matte finished.

  I have the 6inch stainless.357 mag
  its the bright stainless
  they also made a matte stainless
  no nickel in the king cobra
  other models yes

  Thanks Springer 1. I'm happy to hear it's stainless instead of nickel plated. I like nickel plating but not on a gun I'll carry a lot. I think I'm going to like this Colt. It has a good feel.

  The Colt King Cobra is probably one of the best mid sized revolvers out there. I have one and have had it for years. Accurate and tuff, thats the best description I can give it.
