super redhawk was beefed up to handle the big .454 cassull and .480 ruger if you look above the cylinder you'll see the difference, also the location of the ring mount slots

the redhawk was made first in 44mag, 45LC, 41 mag and 357mag,( the last 2 have been discontinued for years ) with 5-1/2" and 7 -1/2" ( blue and stainless ) and you could get a model with scope rings on the barrel like the Super Blackhawk Hunter has, personally i really like the 5 1/2 model ,

I'll take the Redhawk over the Super Redhawk.according to my wholesale catalog the Redhawk with rings cost $19.00 more than the Super Redhawk. If someone wants $200.00 more for a Super RedHawk ,tell them to get lost. [^]

Brother packed a Redhawk .44 with 7 1/2 barrel in the Bob Marshall Wilderness for a 6-day back-pack trip. That gun was plenty (too long of barrel) strong and accurate for .44. A terrific handgun!

Can't imagine why I would choose the Super but for 454 or the 480 Ruger.

They are bull strong too. Neither will shoot loose like the early model 29's. If you shoot heavy reloads the Redhawk is the way to go. I have been thinking about gettin mine cut down to 4" just for ease of carry. Wish Ruger made a 4" bbl so you could do a replace ment.
