Walther P1 front sight blades
I'm trying to help a friend who just bought a refurbished P1. His pistol is euipped with a #3 front sight blade and it hits pretty low.
Anyone know a source for the various height front sight blades? I checked the Numrich/Gun Parts Corp. catalogue but didn't spot them.
Any info on how many different heights are offered, how much each sight change the point of impact and which direction the number system goes? (If I install a #4, which direction would it move the point of impact?)

Can you file the top of the front sight, and then put a little cold blue on it?? 0 -
The pistol is hitting 4-5 in. low at 10 yards, which means the front sight needs to come down quite a bit. If I filed down the one that's on it I'm concerned that altering the profile so much will make it look butchered. I was hoping to get a blade that was at least close, then file for fine tuning. 0 -
I had the same problem with mine. It had a white dot front sight #3 and was shooting 6 inches low. The front sight does not interchange with the front sight that doesn't have the white dot because the rear sight is wider. I got a used lower front sight for $25 from ERS,Inc. A new front sight was $45. www.carlwalther.com or 1-987-851-2656.
They told me that the guns were sighted in with 124 grain bullets, but I am using 115 grain bullets. I can't see how only 9 grains would make a difference of 6".0
