does anyone or has anyone made a .22hornet lever action?

I am looking for any information available on the following rifle which I have recently aqured from a family member. It is a Zbrojovke Brno ZKW 465, 22 Hornet, Manufacture date 1949 (so I am told by the markings), Dbl trigger, Z on butt plate. Any information would be appreciated. I will try to post a picture.

Hello I have been shooting 22 hornet for 40 years in many guns .IT can be a love hate relationship on reloading I like the nosler bevel base bullet as it is easy to load .I dont know if they are still available I bought 5K years ago also the reloading dies play a big part the expanding plug Is usually too large and there is not enough bullet pull because the case neck is so thin this makes the powder burn erratic.Try Fed primers the firing pin spring on most hornets are weak compared to other bolt sizes. 0 -

I'd say load too. Try using 4198. We used those a lot in the past and they were pretty accurate. Also, we were big into the 40 grain bullets. My speer manual uses 11.5 grs as max in 4198 w/ 40 gr. bullets. since your rifle is newer you might try going to Hodgdon, IMR, Alliant, or Accurate Arms for data on loads. From there work up to what you find shoots the best. It being a new rifle of good design, pressures won't go haywire for you. But, do work up slowly and look for signs of pressure at each load level.
Also, as mentioned above, eliminate as many other variables as you can by checking the dies, rifle, etc. What did the rifle shoot with factory ammo? That may tell you it's not necessarily the load.

i'm using the current load from the latest seirra recipe book, 40 gr bullet and shoot half to 3/4" groups depending on me. out of my lone eagle pistol 0 -

I read once in a magazine article by the gun writer Ross Seyfried that using small pistol primers for the 22 HORNET will give better accuracy than using rifle primers. Supposedly rifle primers are too hot for the amount of powder that a Hornet uses, whether standard or magnum ones are used would probably depend on the powder used, my old Speer book specifies magnums primers for some powders like

I have three K-Hornets and one standard Hornet. After 40 years of reloading I settled on AA 1680 powder and SMALL PISTOL primers. I use a case filled to base of bullet(About 13 grs of 1680) and a 37 gr Calhoon bullet(www.jamescalhoon.com). This not a super high velocity load but shoots about 1/2 to 3/4 inch groups at 100 yards in my rifles/ It has killed several thousand prairie dogs in the last 10 years. Accurate Arms recommends the small pistol primer to prevent over-ignition in the small case.

My 77/22 Hornet has a decided preference for the 35 gr Hornady V-Max with 13.0 gr of Hodgdon Li'l Gun and a CCI BR4 primer in W-W cases. Shoots sub MOA when I do my part.
