American Redfield's had a lifetime warranty I believe. The company NAME only was bought by BLOUNT corporation so new Redfields are actually just cheap Simmons scopes.

I just sent two 3x9 widefields to a company called ABO(USA) in Miami. They are doing the warranty work now. Check their website. They have you send in the scope with a check for $26.00 for s/h. Both of mine had broken reticles and one had a coating on the lens.

Keep in touch and I'll let you know how it goes.

The Florida contact is recommended by Redfield, and I believe it is an individual (very competent) who usually is far behind. I had the same problem and Redfield finally gave me an offer of 50% off of any of their 3 lines of products. The top line now is Weaver and I put on a top line 3 x 10 and the clarity is excellent. I honestly cannot see difference between it an my Leopolds or Burris scopes. The main difference is the warranty, which is owner lifetime instead of lifetime. I do not intent to get rid of it, so I could care less. Lifetime doesnt mean much if they go out of business like Redfield did. I give them credit for giving the 50% deal on scopes they no longer are bound to.

Had real bad experience with abo. Have since done business only with Mike Sexton and can't believe how good he is. His # is 918-445-2286 or 918-521-7736

Mike Sexton rebuilt my 25 year old Redfield 4-12 AO. He did a great job.

Thanks for the leads! Just curious about the disappointment with abo -- was it a matter of a long wait, or a poor job done? I'm not in a hurry, but I would like a nice clear scope again. In any event, I can call and look around at a couple of the suggested sources for repairs.
