I have a pre-ban mak-90 and was wondering if I can put a folding stock on it now that the ban has expired? Also, I heard that CDNN has hi-cap mags, what is CDNN?

To add all the naughty features to your Mak 90, you have to add a certain number of American made parts. Go to www.ak-47.net and check out their forums/advertisers, they go into excruciating detail regarding this.

There is no such thing as a "preban" MAK-90. The ban that affected the Chicom AK style rifles was the 1989 ban, which is the ban that forced the "invention" of the MAK-90. The MAK-90 designation is "Modified AK 1990". The modifications were accomplished to allow them in the country, as the 1989 ban prohibited the importation of those rifles with folding stocks, bayonet lugs, and pistol grips. It is illegal to add such parts UNLESS a sufficient number of parts are added to qualify it as a US made rifle.
The rule says a semi-auto rifle, such as an AK, must have NO MORE THAN ten (10) imported parts from the following list, all other parts on the list must be US made.
(1) Frames, receivers, receiver castings, forgings
or stampings
(2) Barrels
(3) Barrel extensions
(4) Mounting blocks (trunnions)
(5) Muzzle attachments
(6) Bolts
(7) Bolt carriers
(8) Operating rods

Thanks for the info. What I meant by preban is before all the "price gouging" of my local gun dealers and, at the time, the uncertainty of what exactly what was going to be banned. 0
