Misfeeding Rifle
Anyone out there who might give me clue as to why my Winchester 275, slide action, .22 RFM rifle will not feed the last cartridge? I can put in 4-5 shells and the gun will feed and fire normally. When it gets to the last round in the magazine, it refuses to allow the shell to be lifted up so the bolt can push it forward into the chamber. I have tried a couple different magazine tubes and different ammo, all to no avail. [?][?][?] Thank you.

I had a friend with the same problem, same rifle.
A gunsmith said it had to do with the follower.
The cure was to use a fired case, filled with liquid nails for rigidity and affixed to the magazine button.
This tricked the rifle into "thinking" the last cartridge wasn't.0 -
MrGnA:
I agree that it is a follower problem. I have tried two different ones. The original was a red plastic. That inner mag tube was lost. The replacement tube has a metallic follower. I thought that may be the source of the the problem.
Do you know how he fixed the empty case to the follower? If his was plastic did he use epoxy? If it was metal did he braze or solder it on?
I'll give that a try, unless someone else comes up with a better idea.
I thank you for the suggestion. [:)][:)]

MrGNA:
Tried the trick you suggested. No luck. Must be something else involved. Still open to suggestions. No good gunsmiths close by.
