Winchester 12 Ga 1400 Ranger barrel substitution
I have a Broken mounting ring on the barrel of my Winchester 12 Ga. 1400 Ranger shotgun. I have found that replacement barrels (28", vent rib, Winchoke, right hand) are available for Win. 1500XTR's, and was told by a friend that they will fit the 1400 with a little modification. I am told that only the two vent holes in the monting ring must be drilled, as the 1500 is a pump-action gun. Can anyone confirm this?

The 1500 is an automatic and will fit. It was the fancy version of the 1400. The 120/1200/1300 series pump barrels will fit, but they need the gas holes drilled to function properly. Al 0
