What mags for Colt ARsporter 7.62x39

I am thinking about picking up a colt ar rifle chambered in 7.62x39. What kind of mags are out there for this rifle?? ANy other thoughts on this configurations:

    I have hard of a "franken" mag for 7.62 ar's. they are a frankenstein looking thing that uses a bottom of an ak mag and the top four inches or so of an ar mag then they are welded together.


    I hear they are the only reliable ones made.
    I also hear they are very scarce and pricey.

    Im not positive but I believe they are made by USA magazines. They are a AK lower welded to an AR upper. Its a very distinctive look. They really work, the cheap one piece ones that you can buy at the gun shows do not.

    They WERE made by USA, but of course USA has been out of business for several years now. There was at least one other company that did the same style as well, but they never were proud enough to put there name on them. In most cases, they actually used a Mini-30 magazine bottom rather than an AK bottom. The shape is the same either way. Historically the "Franken mags" worked the best however. I still have a few of them available, but they have become hard to find.
