Hopkins & Allen Revolver Information
I have this revolver and am wondering about it's year of manufacture and it's value.
The only information is:'
Hopkins & Allen Arms Co.
Pat Jan 5 86
S/N 5292
It has an octagon barrel and a 5 shot cylinder.
I believe it is a .32 caliber (measures 5/16th") and have found pictures of a "safety Police" that looks very similar but they seem to be patented in 1905ish? It does not say Safety Police on it.
I would appreciate it if someone knows something about this gun.
Here is a link to my site with a picture of it:

The gun seems to be in working order (cylinder revolves when trigger is pulled) but I can spin the cylinder at will. I don't know if this is normal or not.

Problem is that H&A made so many "low price" guns and I've yet to find a good photographic reference to them. Your pictures does not match anything I have in my limited reference stuff on this Mfg., but it may be a model M3 going by your description.
General market on these guns is $50-75+ depending on model and condition.
There are a couple fellas that seem to have pretty extensive libraries on these type revolvers and maybe one will come along and give you some better info.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0
