bobski-question with using Brass shot shells

I have a BPS Hunter and I am wondering and have heard that I need to check and see if the inside of the barrel has a taper to it for shooting brass shot shells, because they are thinner than the plastic ones. I am wondering what info you or anyone else would have with this question. Thank You
