Can't help with your problem, but where did you get that kit? Sounds interesting.

Here is an article about the conversion kits offered by the company. In this review they convert a 1916 Spanish short mauser from 7.62 nato to 7.62x39. They also give a link to the manufactures site along with a small list of cnversions available. For my 7.5french to 7.62x39 kit I had to ask the manufacturer since he did not list it on his site. But he does make a whole set of kits not listed on his site. My kit cost me $35.00 and the only thing I bought extra was a broken shell extractor incase I ever want to take out the chamber insert that comes in the kit. Shooting 7.62x39 is saving me a bundle.

Sorry for resurrecting this old post, but Wehrmacht, did you ever get the follower to work on your MAS 36? I am cleaning up my MAS 36 for shooting and am considering one of these MCA inserts. But I too would like to have a functional magazine.

    Please let me know.

Does anyone know how thin you can go on a chamber insert? My MAS 36 chamber is a bit oversize and bulges the case 0.015" about 3/8" in front of the case head.

I am not interested in converting to 7.62X39.

This thing shoots great and is in great condition but I am concerned that after a few reloadings I may have a case head separation due to work hardening.

Has anyone had a case head blow on a MAS 36? How well was it contained?

Check the headspace. I'm not sure how you adjust it in the MAS36, but that symptom is common in rifles with rear locking bolts (Enfields are notorious for this).
